Happy Halloween!

Not surprisingly, this is one of my top three favorite horror movies. When I was thirteen years old, my friends were obsessed with this scene. For straight guys, they were fascinated by seeing a guy in an assless dog suit maybe giving another dude head. We watched this movie pretty frequently, and every time it got to that scene, they would rewind it and play it back over and over and try to figure out what the fuck is going on.

I think that's what's disturbing about it. There's definitely something sexual and queer, that almost falls into the trope of THE THING NOT NAMED. A lot of horror films involve playing with the boundaries of sexuality and gender possibly with genuine interest in pushing them, or maybe as a way of exploiting the fears and anxieties people have developed about their identities. It makes me wonder if any queer theorists have analyzed this scene...
