It's a long story, but here's a brief run-through. About a year ago, somewhere around the time I started writing this blog actually, I started hanging out with this guy and we got to a point where we were talking about maybe trying out having some kind of a relationship. It must have been one of those times I go through every once in a while where I'm frustrated and looking for some kind of a father figure (I'm sure a lot of young gay guys go through this). Me and this guy had a few things in common, mainly, we were both writers and we were both into leather. He was in his 30s, black, very hot (didn't really look anything like Amin). One of the problems though, which ended up being too hard to reconcile, was that we were both dom tops.
Anyway, we were hanging out at his place one night, making out, cuddling, that kind of sentimental thing I don't usually go into detail on here with. It was all going great until he decides to put on a movie and picks The Last King of Scotland, which is possibly the most violent and politically disturbing films about a homoerotic, almost pederastic relationship I've ever seen - and I know my queer film history! But women have told me (I learned last night) that they didn't read anything homoerotic into the film, so maybe it was all in my head.
Needless to say, it was a sign that things weren't going to work out, and that's another story I don't feel like writing about. But at least now I can associate the failures of my romantic life with the saga of post-colonialism...

Oh man, I'm really sorry about that. You see I'm an English student so I sometimes forget about things like case and pronoun declension.
It's kind of amusing that someone would object to the grammar of the voice I write with on here and not to the actual content of this post, or the whole blog.
