Halloween Costume Ideas???

So I still haven't come up with an idea for a Halloween costume. Even though I usually wait until the last minute, I always end up figuring something out. Last year I was a guido, and the year before that I was a dead hipster. But right now I seem to be drawing a blank. Any ideas?

What's usually more important to me and my friends on Halloween is getting properly wasted. I'm either doing a party or going to some bars, or both. I think I'm leaning more towards the first choice because I'm broke, though I probably wouldn't have to worry as much about buying my own drinks if I went to some gay bars. Either way, it's sounding like it's gonna be a good Halloween/Pre-Obama victory celebration.

To The Last Man Trailer

I guess there's been a lot of controversy over this trailer. It does seem unusually violent for porn, but a lot of work must have gone into it and I still think it looks hot. You decide.

Rep. Michele Bachmann's Argument For White Supremacy

Here's a clip from 2005 of Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann using post-Reconstruction era (proto-fascist?) logic on cultural degeneracy to explain rioting in the suburbs of France:

Rare Profile-Writing Skills

Some guy just sent me a message on Manhunt.net where instead of saying anything good about me, he seemed to be complimenting the way my profile is written:

great str8 to the point profile, casual and effective, for a change..

I guess his way of trying to pick me up is to flatter me for my ability to write a profile?

Straight Friends and Cruising

This might be surprising, but one frequent reader of this blog is actually a straight friend of mine, and on occasion he'll ask me for advice about girls, or ask me to interpret some aspect of gay culture for him. A few nights ago, he called me up at around 2:30 in the morning to tell me that he had a great story for the site.

He had just left his gym in the West Village (which at that hour makes it seem like he was asking for trouble...) and he was on his way to the subway when he noticed a young guy about his age following him. He stopped at a crosswalk, and the guy just stood there with him and was trying to make eye contact. My friend remembered that he had seen him a few minutes before pissing in a doorway, but the guy hadn't seen him then.

My friend crossed the street and the guy kept following him. He had no idea what was going on and thought he was gonna get killed, so he got ahead of him and ended up having to make a detour to lose him and he went to the subway station ten blocks away.

He called me up told me what had happened, and I said that the guy was probably trying to cruise him. He asked if that's something gay men do a lot, and I told him it happens and he probably shouldn't be too surprised since the guy followed him from his gym at two in the morning...but I said that now he knows how to interact properly if he ever wants to cruise any men down there.

I sometimes forget that some guys out there (the straight ones) aren't ever on guard to get cruised or hit on by other men.

From Always Gay. Always.

Gay White Elitism At It's Best

From a conversation with my "independent" fuck buddy where I accidentally bring up the economy:
Independent: if Obama wins, we'll all be poor
Mascdudewriter: most people are already poor
Independent: fuck most people
Independent: lol
I'm sure this is reflective of a larger population of gay men than most socially-aware gays would like to believe. There's a pretty significant number of what a few sociologists call assimilationist-type gays who seem to be taking on the classism and racism of the affluent in order to stay a part their class. Some of the most racist and classist (and sexist) people I've ever met have been gay, and it usually happens when they have enough money and the right skin color to basically say 'fuck most people,' tell themselves they're living a normal life and more deserving of it than everyone else, stay in the closet, and then ocassionally go to Fire Island when they want to be gay.

But maybe he can tell he's probably not gonna get fucked again...

Bill Ayers on Terrorism

Bill Ayers responding to 9/11, his memoir, and terrorism:

The barbarism unleashed against innocent human beings on Sept. 11 has in an instant transformed the complex landscape of American consciousness.

I'm filled with horror and grief for those murdered and harmed, for their families and for all affected forever.

"Fugitive Days," the memoir I've written about my participation in the Weather Underground and the antiwar movement and the events of 30 years ago, is now receiving attention in a radically changed context.

My book is a condemnation of terrorism in all its forms. We are witnessing crimes against humanity. The intent of my book was and is to understand, to tell the truth and to heal.

Ayers, Bill. "Weekend of Heartache: Let Us Honor the Dead; A Different Landscape." The New York Times, September 16, 2001.

And more on the actions of the Weathermen, differences between their demonstrations and terrorism, precautions made to ensure no innocent people were harmed:
"For all of our stupidity, for all of our wrongness, in the scale of stupidity taking a human life is vastly different from what we did," he argued. (The Weathermen put in warning calls before their bomb exploded.)

"We were not terrorists," Ayers added. "We flirted with it. We toyed with it. We killed ourselves."

The last remark was a reference to the 1970 blast in a Greenwich Village townhouse that killed three members of the Weathermen - or Weather Underground as it later called itself - who were manufacturing bombs...

"The Sept. 11 thing, I feel like the whole world collapsed," Ayers said. "The world cracked open for me. It was just too horrible. It was a crime against humanity the likes of which we have never seen."

And it was politically incorrect. The suicidal hijackers, in Ayers' view, were committed to an ideology that is "backward and futile, if not fascistic."

MN Congresswoman Channels Joe McCarthy

On Hardball with Chris Matthews today, while discussing Barack Obama's alleged 'terrorist connections,' Minnesota Republican Representative Michele Bachmann called for investigation by the media of all members of congress who may be 'anti-American,' mainly on the Democratic side:
Matthews later pressed her to name a single member of Congress other than Obama who she thought was anti-American. Bachmann, who initially wouldn't budge, called for a major "expose" into the matter.

"What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out if they are pro-America or anti-America," she said.

The entire clip is pretty alarming. This is the kind of political discourse that is hopefully on the way out...

I Just Fucking Voted...

In case anyone couldn't tell which candidate I was planning on supporting:

Seeing as I'm a college student and I'm always out of my registered district on Election Day, this will have been my third time voting by absentee ballot. Of course the other two candidates I supported (Hillary Clinton, Ned Lamont...) ended up losing, so hopefully that's not gonna be the case this time around...

2008 HX Gay Erotic Expo

I spent most of the day yesterday hanging out at the HX Gay Erotic Expo. I got lots of free porn and was able to meet some of my favorite pornstars. My friend knows Raging Stallion star Mike Dreyden and when he introduced me, he told him that he was the first gay pornstar I'd met in person. Since he was the first one, he let me grab his dick and ass, and then shoved my face in his armpit...

Later on I wanted to get a picture of him, and he ended up tearing off my shirt and pulling me in, and a crowd of people built around and there were lots of cameras flashing, so I have no idea how many guys have pictures of us and are probably using them as jerk-off material.

Me and Mike Dreyden

I also got to meet Vinnie D'Angelo and told him I was a big fan of his. He seemed like a really nice guy and autographed a picture for me. I also got to see Manuel Torres, Ricky Sinz, Vin Nolan, and Jake Cruise in person.

Me and Vinnie D'Angelo

A few hours later, my friend and I went to the Eagle. It was early when we got there so it wasn't very packed but we went up to the roofdeck and standing there in front of us were Johnny Hazzard and Colton Ford, and a table full of free porn. I talked to Johnny and he signed a copy of the latest Unzipped magazine with him on the cover.

Blurry pic of Me with Johnny Hazzard

Overall it was a pretty eventful night and helped to slightly make up for the fact that I couldn't make it to Folsom this year. I've still got a lot of free porn to sort through...

MSM Can't Admit That Obama Is Over 270

Here's an excerpt from a post on OpenLeft.com where Chris Bowers points out that many smaller media sources have had Obama projected to have well over 270 electoral votes for some time now, yet sources like CNN and the New York Times aren't willing to put him over the line:

Election Projection: Obama 364-174
Electoral-Vote.com: Obama 349, McCain 174, 15 tied
Fivethirtyeight: Obama 347.6-190.4 McCain
Pollster.com: Obama 320, McCain 158, Toss-up 60
Real Clear Politics: Obama 277, McCain 158, Toss-up 103

There are many more, but I'll stop there. The key point is that all small media election projection websites, including the Republican Election Projection and Real Clear Politics, have Obama over 270 electoral votes. This is because polls now objectively show that Obama is well over 270 electoral votes. However, none of the big, and so-called liberal, media websites show Obama over 270 right now. Every single one is even more favorable to McCain than Real Clear Politics:

MSNBC: Obama 264-174 McCain
CNN: Obama 264-174 McCain
New York Times: Obama 260--200 McCain

None of these websites can admit what is patently obvious to even Republican poll watchers right now: Obama is over 270 outside the margin of error. The inability of these big media sites to simply admit reality--reality that is evident in their own reporting about McCain playing from well behind right now--is pathetic.

Maybe they are afraid of being accused of pro-Obama bias (probably). Maybe they are just biased toward McCain (possibly). Maybe they just suck at electoral forecasting (definitely). Maybe they are invested in a close campaign (absolutely). Whatever it is, you would be well served to never, ever listen to big media for election forecasts and horserace information.

Labor President Denounces Rallies, Compares McCain to Racists and Extremists

John Sweeney, president of the AFL-CIO, issued a statement denouncing the rhetoric and behavior generated at McCain-Palin rallies this week:
"In a world where unspeakable violence is too often promulgated by extremists, it is no small or trivial matter to call someone a terrorist -- or to incite potentially dangerous individuals toward violence," Sweeney said in a statement. "John McCain, Sarah Palin and Republican leaders are walking a very thin line in pretending not to hear the hateful invectives spewed at their rallies. McCain should end this line of attack in the strongest possible terms. Anything less puts McCain in the same camp as the racists and extremists who are bringing their angry rhetoric to his campaign events."

America the Banana Republic

Alcoholic journalist Christopher Hitchens on the current financial crisis and the credibility of the United States government:
Now ask yourself another question. Has anybody resigned, from either the public or the private sectors (overlapping so lavishly as they now do)? Has anybody even offered to resign? Have you heard anybody in authority apologize, as in: “So very sorry about your savings and pensions and homes and college funds, and I feel personally rotten about it”? Have you even heard the question being posed? O.K., then, has anybody been fired? Any regulator, any supervisor, any runaway would-be golden-parachute artist? Anyone responsible for smugly putting the word “derivative” like a virus into the system? To ask the question is to answer it. The most you can say is that some people have had to take a slightly early retirement, but a retirement very much sweetened by the wherewithal on which to retire. That doesn’t quite count. These are the rules that apply in Zimbabwe or Equatorial Guinea or Venezuela, where the political big boys mimic what is said about our hedge funds and investment banks: the stupid mantra about being “too big to fail.”

Vanity Fair: America the Banana Republic

You Know You're A Perv When...

I was on the train coming home tonight when this old guy starts chatting me up (possibly not out of being attracted to me) about the current Financial Meltdown(!). After a while of him ranting and me listening politely to him say he has a plan to use the market to double his retirement funds, we somehow get to the topic of writing.

He tells me he's written a book. I ask, "What's it about?" and he says "Cruising." I then ask him to repeat himself...

Turns out the guys actually into boats and sailing (cruising...), and not hitting on me. I'm not sure which scenario is more unsettling, being hit on by an old guy on the train or what ended up happening - having to listen to him explain how to sell a non-fiction book and generate profit by filling it with adspace.

Bardot to Palin: "No Pitbull Is As Dangerous As You Are"

French film legend, gay ally (sort of...), and inciter of racial hatred Brigitte Bardot put out a statement against US Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

"I hope you lose these elections because that would be a victory for the world," Bardot wrote in an open letter to Republican John McCain's running mate in the November vote.

"By denying the responsibility of man in global warming, by advocating gun rights and making statements that are disconcertingly stupid, you are a disgrace to women and you alone represent a terrible threat, a true environmental catastrophe," wrote Bardot.

Huffington Post: Brigitte Bardot: Sarah Palin Is "A Disgrace For Women"

McCain-Palin Ticket Appealing to Far-Right/Fascist Mob Mentality!

In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."

Failure of US Capitalism Leads Straight Business Analysts To Go Gay-for-Pay

Now that the foundations of US capitalism have shattered, it appears that straight businessmen are now willing to let themselves be taken advantage of. One straight 27 year old business analyst has started GayVirginityAuction.com, and is offering to auction off his "gay virginity," for half an hour, to pay off $32,000 in credit card debts.
In the last 3 years during my employment I have lived like an absolute idiot, spending money that I didn't have in order to impress the front office brokers that I worked with and who held the keys to big bonuses. Unfortunately, I won't see a 2008 bonus (neither will they at this point!!)
He has no pictures, of course, but says that he looks a lot like Adam Brody from The OC, or "a guy who started in a movie I've never seen called Spanking The Monkey..." Here's what he's offering:
I am not homophobic but I myself am not gay. Put simply, I have never kissed another man or touched another man's penis, period. If necessary as was suggested by the other recent virgin auction, I am willing to take a polygraph test to prove the fact that I am not gay and have never had gay sex of any kind.

What I am explicitly offering as part of this auction is the following - I will wear the same suit that I wore at my job interview at my ex-firm. I will meet the winner in a 100% LEGAL setting such as either at a licensed brothel in Nevada or Rhode Island, and I will spend some time having a drink with them, hanging out with them, laughing, breaking the ice, and so on.

Afterwards, I will deliver what I would consider to be the ideal blowjob / handjob combination until the winner has an orgasm or 30 minutes passes whichever comes first.

Sorry but no anal activity of any kind is part of this offer!

I'm having a really hard time believing this is real because his sidebar says that the current highest bid is $21,000...Believe me, I've gotten some pretty ridiculously high offers from men who wanted me to top them, or even just suck my dick or watch me jerk off. But personally, 21k sounds like a bit much for someone who doesn't have a picture of himself, is offering only half an hour, and won't even give up his ass.

Or maybe he's real and he's just a novice who doesn't realize that most guys who offer to pay online are just cybering...
